Couldn’t load the purchases sheet

This page has no purchases of its own. It reads them live from the house purchases Google Sheet, and that didn’t work just now.

Try first

Check your internet connection and press Retry. A short Google outage fixes itself.

If it keeps happening (maintenance manager)

  1. Open the sheet: ICH House Purchases. Sign in to Google as internationalmaintenance@madisoncommunity.coop, which can edit it.
  2. Check it’s still published: File → Share → Publish to web. The Public, All purchases and Feedback public tabs must be published as CSV. If it was unpublished, publish them again.
  3. Don’t rename those tabs or the column headers in All purchases (Date, Retailer, Item, Qty, Total ($), Category, Notes, Link). The page looks for them by name.

Updating the site itself

  1. The page is one file, index.html, in internationalmaintenance/ich-supply-ledger on GitHub. Sign in with a GitHub account that’s a member of the internationalmaintenance organization.
  2. Edit index.html (pencil icon) and commit to main. GitHub Pages republishes in a minute or two.
  3. If the sheet was republished and got a new link, copy the new “Publish to web” CSV link into the line that starts const BASE=.

Adding purchases

Add a row at the top of the All purchases tab. No change to the site is needed; Google updates the published copy within about 5 minutes. Fill in Paid with so the supplies-account estimate counts it, and Units per pack and Unit so it counts toward usage.

Supplies account balance

When Accounts Payable gives you the real balance, overwrite row 2 of the Balance tab with the date and amount, and say whether that month’s transfer is already in. The page estimates the current balance from there.
